Balyasny hires former Citadel data strategies chief as senior quant researcher

Balyasny Asset Management has taken on Halla Yang, previously head of Citadel's data strategies group, as a senior quant researcher based in Chicago. He started this month, according to eFinancial Careers as cited by Hedgeweek.
Yang spent eight years at Citadel, five of them as co-head and then sole head of the data strategies group, and left in April 2025. Earlier roles included data scientist at McKinsey, quantitative researcher at Jump Trading and vice president at Goldman Sachs.
