CIP's sixth flagship renewable-energy fund, CI VI, has secured a €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion) pledge from Norges Bank Investment Management. The fund will focus mainly on generating and storing renewable energy in OECD countries across North America, Western Europe and Asia Pacific.
In 2024 the same investor backed the fifth flagship fund, CI V, with €900 million ($1 billion). CI V closed in March 2025 above its target, with commitments of more than €12 billion ($13 billion). Harald von Heyden, who leads energy and infrastructure at Norges Bank Investment Management, said the new commitment allows continued investment in projects at the development stage.
