Border to Coast Pensions Partnership has hired Luke Baker as a portfolio manager. He will lead the build-out of a local investment program for its partner funds, working alongside those funds and strategic industry partners to create a central local investment capability and help them put local asset allocations into practice.
Baker brings over 25 years of private markets experience, including time at Woodbourne Group, Tesco Pension Fund, Aviva Investors and Grosvenor. CIO Joe McDonnell said the new capability complements the existing U.K. opportunities strategy. Border to Coast's private markets program stands at £23.2 billion ($26 billion), counting both invested and committed capital.
