An affiliate of Oberndorf Real Estate Management (OBREM) and The Bascom Group bought Museum Park Apartments in San Jose for $53.1 million. The property is a 117-unit class B+ multifamily community built in 2002, with 12 three-story garden-style buildings on 3 acres.
The partners plan a value-add renovation of kitchens, bathrooms and common areas; the property has had no major renovation since it was developed. Apartment Management Consultants will manage it. OBREM's managing director Peter Oberndorf said the deal is the firm's first California investment in over a decade.
