Thursday, October 22, 2026 · first reported by France 24
Turkey's Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said on Tuesday that everyone who profited from the investment fund scandal has been identified. He gave no number of people and did not say whether any had been detained or questioned. Those with real gains of 10 million lira or more will be approached, and the justice ministry will start legal procedures if they do not return the money voluntarily.
Simsek said 66 of 131 funds in seven firms placed in liquidation are fully liquidated, as is the liquidation of A1 Capital, Pardus and Bulls. The justice ministry says 85 people are jailed pending trial. The head of the SPK regulator was removed on Monday and the deputy finance minister resigned.
