Tuesday, October 27, 2026 · first reported by IREI and 1 other
CVC DIF has completed the purchase of a majority stake in Cernaval, a Spanish shipyard that repairs, maintains and converts commercial vessels. Cernaval holds a long-term concession at the Port of Algeciras Bay and has operated for over 30 years. Its site has a 400-meter dry dock and a 230-meter floating dock.
CVC DIF intends to work with management on modernizing the yard, widening its capabilities, tightening commercial and operational processes, and adding digitalization and energy-efficiency measures. Gerardo Landaluce, president of the Bay of Algeciras Port Authority, said the deal shows the bay's appeal for private investment.
