Friday, October 30, 2026 · first reported by Private Equity Professional
Tide Rock has bought Electro-Spec, a plating and metal finishing company whose coatings go on parts for aerospace, defense and medical uses. Electro-Spec is based in Franklin, Indiana, with a second plant in Lexington, South Carolina, and is led by President Jeff Smith. Its services include selective gold plating, electroless nickel plating, passivation, and heat treating and annealing.
The deal adds plating to Tide Rock's metal machining holdings, Precision Advanced Machining in California and Made in America Manufacturing in Texas, both acquired in October 2025. Smith said he picked Tide Rock for its approach to investing in and growing businesses.
