Monday, November 2, 2026 · first reported by Private Equity Wire
Clayton Dubilier & Rice and GTCR are working together on a possible take-private of Global Payments, the Financial Times reported, as relayed by Private Equity Wire. Global Payments has an enterprise value of about $40bn, made up of a market capitalisation of about $23bn on Friday afternoon and more than $17bn of net debt. Talks are continuing and may not produce a deal. Any bid would probably need to include a premium.
Global Payments shares rose more than 9% after the report. GTCR is the company's largest outside shareholder, a position it gained through the Worldpay acquisition.
