Qualitas Energy has put in place nonrecourse financing of $286 million covering all of its Chilean assets under Qualitas Energy Fund V. Eight assets make up the portfolio, which has 259 megawatts of renewable output and 840 megawatt-hours of battery storage.
The package refinances assets already operating and pays for projects still being built, with long-term power-purchase agreements with leading offtakers behind it. The operating assets are 66 megawatts of run-of-river hydro. Under construction are a 154-megawatt peak solar PV project that includes the batteries and 39 megawatts of onshore wind, both due to start commercial operation in 2028.
