Gencom, a US-based investment firm, has bought the 308-key Rosewood London, its first purchase in the European luxury hotel market. The price was not disclosed. The Grade II-listed hotel is at 252 High Holborn.
HSBC and Santander jointly provided £225m (€269.6m) of senior debt. White Bridge Capital, a Miami-based private investment firm, co-invested with its network of private investors and family offices. The HSBC and Santander bankers said the financing will back a focused capex plan for the hotel.
