UK Consultation on a New ‘Sovereign Tax Status’ - Implications for Sovereign Investors, Funds, and Real Estate
Monday, November 2, 2026 · first reported by Goodwin via JD Supra
The SEC has put forward two proposals, according to Goodwin. One would modernize the custody rules, which were written with traditional assets in mind. Advisers and regulated funds holding crypto assets have found them hard to apply, particularly as the number and variety of crypto assets grow.
The other would expand private market access through registered fund structures, making them more appealing to sponsors. It would also place more weight on fund-specific liquidity and valuation judgments and on board oversight. Public comments are due December 2026.
