EnCap explores $4bn-plus sale of US shale producer Enduring Resources IV
Thursday, November 5, 2026 · first reported by Private Equity Wire
EnCap Investments is looking at selling US oil and gas producer Enduring Resources IV, a deal that could value the company at over $4bn including debt, according to Reuters as relayed by Private Equity Wire. EnCap and its co-investors are working with Jefferies Financial Group, and a sale process is expected to start in early 2027.
Strategic buyers are likely to be interested, but the size of the business could lead to assets being sold separately to several buyers. No deal is assured. The Denver-based company, led by chief executive Barth Whitham, operates mainly in the San Juan Basin in Colorado and New Mexico.
