Energy Capital Partners acquires 892MW natural gas–fired cogeneration portfolio from Fengate
Wednesday, November 4, 2026 · first reported by IREI
Energy Capital Partners (ECP) has bought a natural gas–fired cogeneration portfolio totalling 892 megawatts from Fengate Asset Management. Its three facilities are in Texas and Illinois and supply steam and electricity to two integrated petrochemical complexes. Financial terms were not disclosed.
ECP plans to use its latest flagship fund to expand the platform through further natural gas–fired generation acquisitions. Fengate owned the assets for six years, building them up with partners at Ironclad Energy. ECP says long-term contracts support the portfolio, which has exposure to the ERCOT and PJM power markets.
